Bounty Battle is a party fighting game featuring thirty colorful characters from many popular indie titles, such as The Penitent from Blasphemous. He has a distinct and comically large cone helmet that would give a normal human incredible neck problems.

The game has an interesting mechanic where you can summon NPC sidekicks with your earned Bounties.

The game plays like a pretty straight forward brawler with normal and heavy attacks, charge moves, and specials. The game does add in a new mechanic where you can earn or lose Bounties. Successful, varied attacks and KOs will increase your amount, which you can then spend to summon a NPC side kick. Missing and spamming attacks will cause your amount to decrease. The NPC side kicks are not too powerful so this will increase you advantage by only a small amount.

The Tournament mode lets you unlock skins for characters if you can win without dying once.

The game does have a few extra modes, such as Tournament, Challenge, and Training Room. Tournament mode is a simple mode where you fight AI characters to earn skins. Challenge mode is similar to most endless modes in other fighting games where you fight endless rounds against random opponents.

Personal gripes aside, the only real drawback about this game is that it only has local multiplayer.

The characters look and feel pretty different and it is a pretty solid game where I enjoyed my time with it. There is one small problem though, the game has no online mode. Without an online mode in today’s present climate where it may be difficult to travel and congregate with others, the game lacks sufficient content to play by one’s self.

Overall the game has style, the music is bumping, and the game is fun enough to play. The lack of an online mode makes this game a bit harder to recommend in the present times however.
