Tinkertown is a survival crafting game that looks like it’s set in the world of The Legend of Zelda. I can imagine this is what Link would do after he retires from adventuring, spending all day terrorizing bushes and trees.

The game has different biomes as shown above (desert and snow) that contain different resources.

The game drops you off right away into a familiar looking world inhabited by trees and rocks just waiting for you to harvest them. The game has a nice aesthetic with some effects that make it feel a bit cinematic and evokes a feeling of nostalgia. Once in the world, you set to harvesting resources to make better pickaxes and axes to harvest even more and better resources. Ahh, the comforting embrace of the familiar game play loop of survival crafting games. I feel right at home.

You can craft better armor and weapons to be able to survive the new biomes and dungeons.

As you collect better resources, you can craft better armor and weapons and proceed to new biomes to collect even more resources. You can also find and explore dungeons and even fight bosses. If fighting isn’t your thing, as with most survival crafting games, Tinkertown has a pretty robust building system in place. You can plan out and build a majestic base to make everyone jealous. How else will you get your reddit upvotes.

If farming and fighting aren’t up your alley, you can always spend your time building the perfect house.

Overall, Tinkertown is a pretty neat survival crafting game. It combines the exploration and adventure elements of The Legend of Zelda with survival crafting mechanics. It doesn’t really add anything new to the genre but it’s a solid game and supports multiplayer. Sometimes, that’s all you really need. Also, chopping down trees and smashing rocks never gets old.
