I’ll cut to the chase. False Myth is a hentai game. I didn’t know before requesting a key but since I got one, here I am, doing my due diligence to cover the game. Needless to say things got pretty comical when I was streaming this game but thankfully I didn’t play long enough where anything less than kosher showed up.

The characters are actually likeable in this game, as far as I can tell.

The hentai aside, False Myth actually has some promise as a traditional Japanese role playing game. The writing of the characters, from what I’ve seen so far, is quite silly, lighthearted, and full of personality. The art style, music, and the world around you seems full of life and it brings you back to playing the old role playing games on the Super Nintendo.

The combat is a very simple game of rock, paper, scissors, but there’s enough depth to keep it interesting.

The combat system is pretty interesting and very simple and easy to understand. It is a simple game of roshambo. The game does change it up a bit by adding in a special and counter attack, and hiding enemy cards to keep you guessing. It’s simple enough where it doesn’t overwhelm you but there’s just enough there to keep the battles interesting.

Why is the volume menu in a book in your guild building?

The game however, is plagued with a lot of production issues. The screen resolution is 4:3 for some odd reason. The audio menu exists but it can only be accessed from a book in your guild building. This is quite bothersome as the game is pretty loud. The game also seems to have issues with handling layers as many of the portraits and sometimes sprites are missing from the screen during certain cut scenes.

Overall, False Myth has some charm thanks to the characters but the bugs and lack of polish hold it back. Unfortunately, it is also a hentai game.
