HyperParasite is a rogue-lite twin stick shooter. You play as a parasite in a retro future city that has the ability to take over hosts and use their abilities to defeat enemies.

As you defeat the enemies and clear each room, you will earn currency that can be spent at the shop to unlock new characters, buy random passive abilities, as well as items to unlock areas in the map. The characters can be unlocked once you pick up their brain after defeating them and bringing it back to the shop area.

As you progress through the levels, you fight mini bosses, each with their own special set of attacks and movement patterns. And at the end of the level is the main boss. For the first level, the boss is a set of two armored vehicles that constantly spawn enemies.

As you deal damage to them, the game turns into a bullet hell with a lot of projectiles on screen that you must dodge. Thankfully, the game makes this a lot easier by giving you a dodge move to use. Using the dodge move gives you invincibility frames so you can easily dodge a lot of the incoming damage.
I played on mouse and keyboard and while it felt accurate and smooth, using a controller would be highly advisable. Fans of twin stick shooters have a pretty solid title to look forward to!
