Zombieland VR Headshot Fever is a pretty darn fun game. The core mechanic is very simple, you just aim your guns at zombies and shoot.

The game captures the fun of old arcade first person rail shooters like Time Crisis and House of the Dead. It is a bit more difficult in that you have to aim your gun using the iron sights instead of just aiming a cursor over the enemy. It adds to the sense of realism and makes the moments where you’re about to be overwhelmed that much more hectic.

Outside of missions, you have a small hub world where you can train at a shooting range, change and upgrade your weapon and perk loadouts using toilet paper (yes toilet paper is the currency), and check your achievement progress. The characters from the movie do make quips and there is a very light narrative thread the game follows. While I did enjoy the Zombieland films, the characters don’t add much for me.

Overall, Zombieland Headshot Fever is a very simple but incredibly enjoyable experience, especially for people who enjoyed the arcade light gun games of old. It’s just simple fun and keeps the experience on the shooting. The controls are simple and feel pretty good as well.
